WINTER SKINCARE ESSENTIALS TO KEEP YOUR HAIR AND SKIN HEALTHY & HYDRATED
More than usual
Winter is a time to be a bit ‘extra’ when it comes to skincare. So change your gel moisturizer into a creme, or add a layer to it with a hydrating serum. This extra boost will make a huge difference in the dryness of your skin. Dr. Barbara STURM hyaluronic serum gives instant hydration and is packed with a concentrated balance of low and high molecularly weighted Hyaluronic Acid.
Another tip is to add a few drops of face oil to your moisturizer during the day AND night.
Nighttime recovery
Go to sleep with a thick layer of night creme or an overnight mask. We all know how important sleep is - during winter as many of us go to bed earlier to hibernate, why not sleep with a clean face and a good recovering night- creme. The ultimate luxury night creme is Sisley’s night creme with collagen and wood mallow.
HAIR OILING for winter
Have we all started hair oiling yet? Ranavat’s hair oil is a very powerful hair oil that can be used in many ways. It’s great as a finisher at the end of styling, or as a deeply nourishing mask. Apply from the root to the ends and leave overnight. The smell is heavenly and no, this won’t leave your hair oily. Vanessa is a hair oil expert and she has tested nearly ALL hair oils that are out there. Some work wonders and others just leave your hair oily and heavy. Below are Vanessa’s favorites -

Sarah Chapman SKINESIS
The salon of Sarah Chapman is a true luxury name in London. Loved by many, including the Royals. The facials are not cheap but luckily you can treat yourself to a bit of pampering at home with the 3D Moisture Infusion Sheet Mask. Apply after exfoliation and let the magic happen.
SPF FOR ALL YEAR ROUND
I’ll be honest. Here in Scotland during winter, it’s very difficult to think about SPF because it’s so dark (and mostly grey) but sometimes, on a crisp winter day, the sun comes through and it makes it the most beautiful place on earth. Both darkness and bright sunlight can happen within the hour…. so SPF is key. To ensure I don’t forget, I use moisturizers with SPF. Paula’s Choice - SPF Defense Moisturiser SPF 30 has a great range for different skin types.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Exfoliation is a great way to freshen up your skin. I prefer not to scrub as I have sensitive skin and it can leave my face red. A great product that I’ve recently tested is Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions. It exfoliates and clears the skin up, it also removes any excess makeup (which I use daily for filming) - I highly recommend this product as a great step to your skincare.
