MY STAY AT THE LANGHAM HOTEL IN LONDON
After a heavenly Christmas break with family, plus a period of mild confusion in the period between Christmas Day and New Year, I was more than ready to resume my life and get back to work. I was supposed to travel back to Edinburgh on December 28th - but a series of rail strikes derailed my plans. I ended up staying with my Sister for an extra five days - a happy accident that I really embraced and enjoyed.
It was so lovely to be able to take my niece, Ava, to school for the first day back after the holiday - these are the small things that mean so much, but that I don’t often get to do. It was also back to work for me - after dropping her off I headed to the station and on to London where I stayed for two nights at The Langham Hotel.

The Langham is one of London’s most grand and iconic hotels. Opened in 1865 and frequented by a host of high-profile clientele from Sir Winston Churchill and Noel Coward, to Princess Diana and Lady Gaga - The Langham is a true icon of the city.
I was invited to spend two nights here during my stay in London. This was a real treat for me - I had never been before, so I was exploring everything with fresh eyes and excitement. From check-in to departure, my entire stay at the hotel was truly wonderful - the hotel is of course stunning, but there is much more to The Langham than its opulence - this is a place where service is paramount. Every guest is made to feel like this is their home; it is one of the best hotel stays I have ever had.
A very warm welcome indeed
Sophie and I were greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, as well as lots of delicious snacks and champagne. The suites at The Langham are bright and airy, with calming neutral tones, and all the amenities needed for a relaxing, home-from-home stay.
The Langham Club
Guests staying in any of the Suites get access to The Langham Club, an exclusive lounge which serves an array of complimentary refreshments throughout the day. It is also a great place to hold a meeting, or to work.
The Chuan Spa
On my first full day at The Langham I decided to check out the spa. I have never had a facial before, so was delighted to be offered a treatment. I had the Alpine Radiance Facial - Using cutting-edge Swiss spa technology, this treatment plumps and improves the skin's tone and texture, it is ideal for stressed or tired skin that has lost its radiance. I was impressed with this relaxing treatment - my skin was so fresh and dewy afterwards.
Drinks on The Terrace
The weather in London was unusually mild for the beginning of January. I decided to take advantage of this and enjoy drinks with some friends on the terrace of The Sterling Suite.
